Parking & Garages
If you own a vehicle, you can rent a garage or parking space on most of the council's estates. However, this is subject to availability. If you have been given a parking space on an estate it is important that you clearly display your parking permit. If you fail to do so you car will be towed away and you will have to pay a release fee. It is important that estate roads, paths, courtyards, fire access paths and fire hose connection points are kept clear at all times. If you park cars or vans on them, you will make access difficult for people, especially if they have pushchairs or shopping with them. Also, access must always be kept clear for emergency vehicles.
You and members of your household are not allowed to ride bicycles in the pedestrian areas of the estate. Lorries are never allowed on estates.
If you know of any vehicle which is regularly parked on estate roads or courtyards, or in a parking space not rented by the vehicle owner, please note the registration number and tell your caretaker or housing officer. If you think a vehicle has been abandoned, you should tell your caretaker or housing officer.
Some estates have controlled entry for parking. Always make sure that you keep the areas secure by locking barriers or gates after you.

If your car is towed away the company which provided this service is On time Parking Solutions and can be contacted on 0870 4445633. The standard tow fee is £150 and the daily storage charge is £25.
Garage waiting list:
If you rent a garage or parking space, this will be an additional charge to your basic rent. If you are disabled, you can be given a parking place free of charge. If you are in rent arrears the council will not rent a garage or parking space to you.
