Decoration Voucher Scheme
What is a Decoration voucher scheme? The purpose of the scheme is to provide you with a voucher that you can take to a supplier and exchange for materials to help towards the cost of decorating your new home.

How much decoration allowance will I receive?
Under the scheme you will be issued with a decoration voucher when you sign-up for the tenancy of your new home (see Final Agreement for Decoration). The amount of the voucher will be based on an amount payable for each room in need of decoration and will cover bedrooms, lounge rooms kitchens, toilets and hallways.
What are the items I can purchase with these decoration vouchers? The voucher will enable you to purchase materials to decorate your home such as paint, brushes, sand paper, wallpaper and paint stripper. They cannot be used to purchase other domestic appliances.
Will the supplier require any identification? Yes. When you take your signed Decoration Voucher to be redeemed you maybe required to supply some form of identifi cation to the supplier, i.e. your tenancy agreement
Can I spend more than the value of the decoration voucher? You can spend more (this additional cost has to be paid by you) than the total amount on the vouchers, but if you spend less you will not be given any cash or a credit note.
Can I exchange the decoration voucher for cash? This scheme does not allow you to exchange the voucher for cash of any value. If you wish to change goods for any other reason, then this is a matter for each individual supplier.
Can I refund or exchange the goods? The suppliers have agreed not to issue refunds for goods purchased with the vouchers but they will exchange the goods if they are faulty.
Where can I purchase these items? The Vouchers must be used by the person to whom they were issued at one of the participating suppliers that are listed on this leaflet.
What if a particular supplier cannot supply the items I require? As there is more than one participating supplier, you can take your vouchers to any of the other suppliers on the list.
How long can I keep the decoration voucher in my possession? The voucher is valid for only 3 months from the date of issue. The vouchers must be used before the expiry date stated on the voucher.
What happens if the decoration voucher has expired, is lost or stolen?
A replacement will not be available under any circumstances
