Borugh Housing Forums (BHF)

This is a formal consultation meeting between HF Council, the TRA representatives and H&F Homes. The Borough Housing Forum (BHF) discusses matters of strategy and policy which affect housing.

At the Borough Housing Forum the council formally consult with Tenants and Residents Associations to seek their views and opinions on any proposed strategies and policies that will affect the residents of housing managed by us.

The consultation will take place before a decision is taken at a stage when the views of residents are still able to influence or alter the proposal prior to any change being introduced.

There are at least two meetings each year but their frequency is dependant on the number of issues where consultation is needed.

The meeting is normally chaired by the Cabinet Member for housing. If they are unable to attend, the
meeting will be chaired by the chair of the housing scrutiny committee. This ensures that the councillors with special responsibility for housing are able to hear the views and opinions of resident representatives at first hand.
