Concierge

Some high rise blocks in the borough have a concierge service.
Receptionists are on duty between 8am and 1pm. Their responsibilities are to:

• Maintain security to the block.

• Ensure access is given only to authorised visitors.

• Monitor activity in the reception area on the ground floor and in the lifts to prevent vandalism or misuse.

Communal Areas

It is everyone's duty to make sure that communal areas are kept in reasonable order, and tenants and residents are not allowed to store bikes, furniture or bulky rubbish in these areas. Not least because obstructing landings, stairs, fire paths or fire hose points could cause a serious risk in the event of a fire.

If you do find such an obstruction, tell the area housing office or caretaker immediately. You should also inform the relevant person in the event of broken lights, graffiti, lift breakdown or any other issues that could effect people's quality of life or safety.
